First Genius lands in New Zealand |
Back to news |
After much anticipation, the very first Genius 52UV has arrived in New Zealand.
The Genius, a UV offset press, unique for its ability to print from a handful of sheets to tens of thousands on virtually any material up to 0.8mm thick, is ideally suited to the New Zealand print market.
Print Counsel, an innovative printer based in Auckland was thrilled to receive the Genius.
Graham Painter, MD of Print Counsel is excited to have the Genius as this gives Print Counsel the unique ability to print a massive range of materials, with no more than ten waste sheets.
Originally aimed at the plastics print market, the Genius has found success in Australia and now New Zealand with traditional commercial printers, who see how effective the press can be for even the most straight forward commercial jobs.
Printing 20-30 jobs in a single shift is quite common amongst Genius users, ensuring that the business can generate more than enough income to turn a profit.
The new ‘quick-change’ ink chambers have also proven to be a great success, allowing users to print spot colour jobs as efficiently as process work as spare ink chambers can be prepared whilst the previous job is being printed.
A handy ink chamber cleaning system is also available, so that one printer can effectively operate the press even with regular ink changes.
The current focus on the environment is also not lost on clients, who benefit from the Genius operating without any water, solvents, spray powders or fount solutions. A new UV curing system has also shown significant reductions in power consumption, delivering further benefits.
Jack Malki, Director of Jet Technologies is delighted with the response shown by printers all over Australia and New Zealand.
A microsite for the Genius has also been launched (www.genius52uv.com.au) in response to the growing interest in this unique press.
